"I hate carrying a bag and having to keep track of it."

My Leatherette was born on a balmy Friday evening in Miami. Dawn Korman was showing her sculpture and paintings during Art Basel Miami and had to move freely amidst the typical crowds, traffic and overall excitement of the world-renowned art fair.

In a very last minute attempt to ditch the purse, she cobbled together a crude holster out of old belts, a cell phone case, and a carabiner. Three times she was chased down by tired art fair attendees who demanded to know how they could find such a unique holster for themselves.  

The rest is history.
